RUD RECEIVES MONUMENTAL GIFT FROM THE FRED & BARBARA ERB FAMILY FOUNDATION

The Fred and Barbara Erb Family Foundation has invested deeply in Northwest Detroit with a $2.1 million legacy gift to Racquet Up Detroit.

In honor of Barbara and Fred's legacy, alongside that of Squash World Champion Hashim Khan, three key spaces in the facility will be named: the Barbara Erb Café, the Fred Erb Squash and Fitness Wing, and Hashim Khan Hall.

Racquet Up’s Executive Director, Rosemary O’Connor, states "The Fred and Barbara Erb Family Foundation Legacy Giving Grant will be truly transformative for Racquet Up Detroit and comes at a pivotal moment in our organization’s growth. This gift will help bring long-term stability to our education and youth development center on Outer Drive while also empowering us to build on the momentum of our fully enrolled programs and dream even bigger about what is possible for our students and community in the years ahead. We are deeply honored to recognize Fred and Barbara Erb, along with Fred’s dear friend and squash legend, Hashim Khan, by naming three premier spaces in our facility, creating a legacy that will impact generations of young people and families."

Together, the Fred and Barbara Erb Family Foundation and Racquet Up Detroit will wrap students, graduates, families, and community members in support for years to come.
