A PERMANENT HOME
A dedicated facility for Racquet Up Detroit is a dream, many years in the making. A permanent, world-class, education and youth development center will not only enable more youth to enroll, but it will establish a neighborhood portal to college and career and a center of excellence for youth development. In the decades to come, thousands of Detroit students will find their path to opportunity from this community home.
EXPANDED PARTNERSHIPS
While the primary purpose of the facility is to house an expanded Racquet Up program, its spaces enable new community partnerships to be established and new programming to be introduced. It is a venue for events, community gatherings, and world-class squash tournaments. Racquet Up works with existing and new partners to ensure the facility is utilized throughout the week, not just when the core program is running.
PROVEN SUCCESS
Racquet Up has proven it can provide opportunity through education with 100% of the first five graduating classes earning high school diplomas and admission to college. 11 students have earned their bachelor’s degree, one has earned his master’s degree, and most are excelling in their chosen career path. This new facility now serves as an inspiring base of support to returning alumni, current students, and many future participants.
